One killed in Kindberg: 14-year-old suspected of murder

The youth fled the scene but was arrested shortly after.

A 36-year-old man died in a violent crime in Kindberg, Upper Styria (Brook-Murschlag district) on Monday around 2 pm. His 14-year-old brother is suspected of killing the man, Styria state police said in a preliminary report. The youth reportedly fled the scene but was apprehended shortly after.

Heimo Kolbacher, spokesman for the Styria state police directorate, said the boy was to be questioned on Monday. For tactical reasons, no details about the kill weapon were given beforehand. Both the victim and the suspect are Austrian citizens. Both were registered in the same family where the 36-year-old’s body was found.

There is currently no information on the motive. The emergency services probably received several emergency calls after which the police went to the crime scene. (APA)
