Zumtobel is considering closing its outdoor lighting factory in France

Zumtobel expects that any negative special effects resulting from a closure may be offset in the coming years. However, the ZG Lighting France plant in Les Antilles will remain a group-wide competence center for outdoor lighting and will not be affected by the current considerations. Zumtobel bought the plant back in 2020 after selling it to French industrial group Active’Invest in 2017.

The Vorarlberg lighting manufacturer has extended the contract of its CEO Alfred Felder by two years, which originally expired in 2025. Felder will now hold his position until September 30, 2027. The supervisory board relies on continuity of leadership and recognizes Felder’s previous successes, according to Friday’s release, “successfully leading the company through difficult times.”

Felder, who will be Chairman of the Board since February 1, 2018 and CEO since June 8, 2018, will continue to support the company’s strategic initiatives for sustainable and profitable orientation. Karin Zumtobel-Chammah, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Zumtobel Group AG, emphasized: “By extending Alfred Felder’s contract, we are ensuring that the initiatives we have launched are strategically supported for a sustainable and profitable orientation of the company.”

Felder explained: “As a team with my colleagues on the board, I will do everything I can to position the company for the future.” The qualified electrical engineer came to Zumtobel in November 2012 after various international management positions at Siemens and Osram. He initially led Tritonic’s components business before being named Chief Operating Officer (COO) to the Board of Directors in April 2016.
