New equipment – FF Unterolberndorf receives a new emergency vehicle

FF Unterolberndorf gets the new HLFA2, the previous RLF is 25 years old. “We looked closely at what we really needed and configured the car accordingly,” FF commander Bernhard Bach told local councilors: a 320 hp, 16-ton MAN-branded rig with a 3,000-liter tank and a pump. .. output of 3,500 liters per minute, unmounted water cannon, five ton winch, light mast, traffic control device and towing bar. As much of the mandatory equipment as possible will be transferred from the RLF to the HLFA: “That alone will cost 52,000 euros,” reported Böck.

Costs? 420,000 euros without taxes and with subsidies, 20 percent of which is paid by the fire department and the rest is covered by the municipality: “We will use this funding rate for other fire departments as well. They will also need new vehicles in ten to 15 years,” announced Mayor Markus Koller.

What happens to an old fire engine? “We already have someone from the region interested in this,” the commander said. Kollar suggested that the income should remain with FF. Because they also have ongoing expenses and the FF share is 84,000 euros in a small Defense Force savings account. “Basically not bad for a small fire department,” the mayor attested.

But it will take some time for the money to arrive. It will take 18 months for the new HLFA2 to be delivered from Rosenbauer.
