EC-KAC won 5-2 at EC Red Bull Salzburg on Sunday. So the final series is just two games later. It was the Red Jackets' sixth straight playoff win in their sixth road game. Not only did they lose their opening match at home, but they also lost both of their quarter-final matches against Pioneers Vorarlberg. The Red Bulls, on the other hand, have had to concede defeat in two of their six away games in the playoffs so far. They won 1-0/OT in the opening game of the final at Heidi Horton Arena, which will sell out again on Tuesday. Paul Huber won the game in the 65th minute.
From a historical perspective, the 1:1 series score is a good omen for Salzburg's defending champions: in the best-of-7 series after two games, Salzburg won 4-1 often (six times).
