It's finally that time again: from Friday to Sunday the ski race is in Kitzbühel. Two extreme disciplines of skiing are on the agenda, with two downhill runs and a slalom. BILD has an overview of the next ski highlight for you.
The legendary festival is being held for the 84th time The winter sports event takes place in the Tyrolean Hahnenkamm. The slope is considered one of the most dangerous: with an 85 percent gradient and a speed of 150 kilometers per hour, the Streif is considered the most difficult and dangerous slope in the world.

The top-placed German, Linus Strasser (31), is in 30th place with 108 points. However, the slalom in Kitzbühel suits the Munich native better: he finished fourth here last year.
How did the first descent in Kitzbühel go?
Surprise first landing on the strip! French ski star Cyprien Sarrasin (29) won the first of two downhill runs in Kitzbühel on Friday. In the famous Streiff, the 29-year-old won just ahead of South Tyrolean Florian Scheider (+0.05 seconds) and Switzerland's World Cup dominant Marco Odermatt (+0.34).
Bright spots among German ski stars! After recent disappointing downhill results, two Germans remain in the top 15 after 40 starts: Dominik Schweiger in 13th place (+1.35), Simon Jocher one place behind (+1.36).
Disappointment among Germany's experienced downhill skiers: Romt Baumann (+2.32), Josef Ferstl (+2.60) and Andreas Sander (+3.18), missing the top 30.
Thomas Tressen, the 2018 Kitzbühel winner, decided not to start on Friday and wants to take part in the second Hahnenkamm downhill run on Saturday (11.30 am/ARD and Eurosport).
