According to the complaint, a robber dragged a Porsche owner out of the vehicle in Wells. A race with the police ended for the culprit at the lamppost, from where he escaped on foot. But he was captured this morning despite heavy resistance.

Yesterday’s events in the trade fair city reminded some of the video game Grand Theft Auto (GTA), which gave the perpetrator a nickname on social media: After he brutally dragged a Porsche owner out of his vehicle and assaulted him, GTA The robber fought with the police and gave chase. He crashed the stolen luxury car into a lamppost in Dalheim before crashing into a house wall and a BMW on the road. Despite a search and a helicopter, the robber managed to escape on foot – for now.
The mad escapades continued
This morning, July 28th, a homeowner reported an unknown person in his yard, police said. He alerted the enforcement officers and took a photo. This led authorities to identify and track down the GTA robber – 32-year-old Welser. While hunting for the culprit, he continued to run, jumped on the train and fled to the Wells ice rink. But he got stuck in a nearby flood. When the authorities tried to arrest him, he resisted fiercely:
“He attacked his colleagues and even beat the police dog.”
Drug test positive
However, the accused was arrested. A drug test for the 32-year-old was immediately positive: according to the administrator, he had taken benzodiazepines, which are strong sedatives. The man is currently in the State Criminal Police Office – but he is refusing to testify. Transfer to Wells Prison is imminent.
