With his gourmet restaurant Stüva at the family-owned 4****S boutique hotel YSCLA in Ischgl, Tyrol’s exceptional chef Benjamin Barth has been reaching top rankings worldwide for years. It has Austria’s best rating of 5 toques and 19 points in Gault&Millau, the former aequo No. 1 among the world’s 1000 best restaurants in “La Liste”. 4 and is a distinguished member of “Les Grandes Tables du Monde”.
After several years of training with Heinz Winkler in Aschau im Chiemgau (DE), young Ischgler’s career took him to Wolfsburg (DE), where, among other places, he worked for Sven Elverfeld in the restaurant “Aqua”. “Restaurant L’Univers” by Christian Blumeil in Nice (FR), “Restaurant Pint” by Christian Pint in Kruse (DK), “L’Auberge de l’Ille” by Mark Haeberlein in Ilheusern (FR) and other notable establishments in his training. “Can Fabes” in Sant Celoni (ES), where he learned from Sandy Santamaria.
Back home, he has been the head chef at Stüva, his restaurant at his family’s boutique hotel YSCLA, since 2008, offering his guests an elegant fine dining experience. His award-winning works reinterpret French classics in a pure and cosmopolitan way. His wife, Sarah Barth, works closely with him as maître d’hôtel.
