A man has died after being stuck in a plane at Amsterdam Airport

A man was sucked into an airplane engine at Amsterdam airport. Authorities are currently investigating the incident.

A man died after being trapped in an aircraft engine at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on Wednesday. According to Dutch airline KLM, the plane was preparing to take off for Billund, Denmark, when a person was sucked into the engine, which was already running, on the airport apron. KLM did not provide further information about the victim.

Passengers were disembarked from the aircraft

The Dutch border police, which is in charge of security at the Netherlands’ largest airport, said passengers were evacuated from the plane. The incident is under investigation.

According to Dutch media reports, the plane is a short-haul aircraft from Embraer, a Brazilian aircraft manufacturer owned by KLM regional subsidiary Cityhopper. A picture released by broadcaster NOS showed fire engines and ambulances on the plane near the departure terminal. (APA)
