A major bridge collapses in Baltimore after a ship collides with it

On Tuesday night, the ship struck and collapsed on the Francis Scott Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland. People also fell into the Patapsco River below, according to US news.

In Baltimore, a highway bridge collapsed after a ship collided with it. The Maryland State Transportation Commission made the announcement on Tuesday. The full extent of the damage to the three-kilometer-long draw bridge that spans the Patapsco River was not initially known. The Baltimore Fire Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

It crashed into a ship and then crashed. According to US reports, the ship caught fire and sank after hitting a support pillar.

Several cars and apparently emergency vehicles reportedly fell into the Patapsco River below, US broadcaster CBS reports. Many people are considered missing by the US media.
