All these new elements and changes have made trips on the Transalp more comfortable and fun than ever. However, it’s still not fixed or I’m missing important updates that can’t be implemented for various reasons.

After all, like many people interested in the Transalp, I like the cruise control. Technically, this could easily be achieved with the existing ride-by-wire, but Honda decided against it. I can only speculate why the Japanese don’t offer cruise control for the XL750 Transalp. During the presentation in Portugal, it was officially stated that the development of cruise control would have increased the purchase price of the Transalp and that they wanted to offer it at a more attractive price that they could certainly agree on. Unofficially, I think Honda doesn’t want to steal customers away from the more expensive Africa Twin and is trying to control this with available equipment. The problem for buyers of the Transalp: the actual cruise control cannot be replaced. Although there are locks on the throttle grip, they are all illegal and dangerous because the throttle can continue to be applied even if dropped. Although it is technically possible to plan real cruise control using the so-called piggyback system, approval is more tricky and subject to stricter requirements and associated, more expensive testing procedures. All in all, such a retrofit cruise control would be a very expensive endeavor that would not be profitable even for major accessory manufacturers. As an individual you can forget about it anyway.
