Trump doesn’t want to run again if he loses the 2028 election

If Donald Trump does not win the upcoming election, it is unthinkable that he will run again.

If former US President Donald Trump is defeated in the November election, he does not want to run for re-election in 2028. At this point, running again is unthinkable, the 78-year-old Republican presidential candidate said in an interview with “Full Measure” television that aired Sunday. But of course he is hoping for “victory” in the November 5 election.

Polls now point to a close race between Trump and the Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris. So-called swing states — traditionally close-knit US states — are often decided on Nov. 5.

Trump also ruled out a televised fight

In an effort to sway the mood there in her favor, Harris invited her rival to another televised fight over the weekend. Trump rejected this. Officially, the Republican Party argued that it was “simply overdue” for another debate.

According to polls and most political commentators, Harris won the first televised debate against Trump on September 10. He put the Republican Party on the defensive with several targeted attacks. (APA/AFP)
