11 students, the largest ever group in the award’s 25-year history, have made it into the Dean’s List within the Faculty of Arts at the University of Malta. Bank of Valletta has been supporting this award since its inception.
Students awarded a mention in the Dean’s List will have obtained a ‘Grade A’ or better in 80 credits from 120 during the first two years of their course, signifying excellence from the beginning.
Prof Dominic Fenech, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Malta and Charles Azzopardi, Executive PR and Marketing at Bank of Valletta met with the Dean’s List 2021 inductees and presented them with a commemorative certificate and a monetary grant by the Bank.
‘We are extremely delighted to see the largest ever group at this presentation ceremony which means that both the quality of the students as well as the learning experience are constantly on the increase,’ said Prof Fenech. The fact that the students are competing against themselves and their abilities against a very stringent benchmark highlights the prestige of this award.’
‘The Dean’s list is designed to honour outstanding academic performance and a sign of dedication, consistency and commitment,’ said Charles Azzopardi. ‘It is indeed a pleasure to be here representing Bank of Valletta during this celebration of excellence. The fact that today’s event marks a quarter of a century since the inception of the award and having the largest ever group of inductees makes it even more memorable.’
“Our investment in education is in line with our ESG commitment to contribute towards inclusive and equitable quality education,’ continued Mr Azzopardi. ‘We strongly believe that investment in today’s education will give the Maltese society a much greater return in the future.’
