The Serie A transfer window has been very busy for all 20 clubs. The big teams are well involved in purchasing new players in order to give ‘The Scudetto’ a go and stop Juvenuts from their winning run. The teams said to be in lower part of the table have also spent their money to buy new players for them to stay in Italy’s top tier.
The current champions knew from the beginning what they wanted and managed to bring in some youngsters which they will surely be an asset in the nearby future. ‘The Old Lady’ started with a free transfer that of the Welshman, Aaron Ramsey who signed a 4 year contract with the Bianconeri. This transfer was then followed by one of Juve’s club legend Gianluigi Buffon and Adrien Rabiot, both transfers were free and both came from the French giants PSG. Luca Pellegrini signed a 4 year contract with Juve and was swapped with Leonardo Spinazzola who joined Roma. The Bianconeri saw the arrival of the Turkish youngster, Merih Demiral. He was bought from Sassuolo for €18.00 million. One of this Summer top transfers is no doubt that of Matthijs De Ligt. The former Ajax defender is set to be one of the best defenders in the world after his positive season last year, Juve have splashed around €75.00 million. The contract contains €7.5 million-a-year wage and a €150 million release clause that will become active in June of 2022.
After bringing in Antonio Conte as their new coach, Inter Milan have brought in some arrivals including the Uruguaian defender Diego Godin, Inter managed to get him for free. Nicolo Barella can surely make an impact in Conte’s squad. The Italian midfielder is on loan at Inter and a sum of €12.00 million was paid to Cagliari with an option to buy after the length of his loan. A fee of €22.00 million was accepted by Hertha BSC for Valentino Lazaro and has signed until the year 2023.
After their succesful campaign last season, Atalanta have already made some signings to improve their squad for the Champions League. Their latest signing is Ruslan Malinovskyi from Racing Genk for a reported sum of €13.70 million. Before Malinovskyi, Luis Muriel was also added to the squad for a fee of €18.00 million to improve their attack.
AC Milan were also looking to improve their squad as they managed to get Frank Kessie from Atalanta. He was on a loan-spell with the Rossoneri and in the beginning of this transfer window they sealed the deal of £21.60mil for the midfielder. Theo Hernandez signed a 5 year contract with the Rossoneri and he came with a fee of €20mil from ‘Los Blancos’.
After many rumours that Kostas Manolas was signing for Juve or Manchester United, Napoli made sure that it did not happen as they paid €36.00 million to Roma to secure the deal. It was revealed that Kostas Manolas has agreed on a five-year deal with Napoli and the player is expected to earn around €3.5m on a yearly basis. They have also signed a promising youngster from Macedonia, Eljif Elmas. He came at a price of €16.00 million and agreed to a 5 year deal with Napoli represantitave.
Roma have also been busy during this transfer window. Leonardo Spinazzola joined Roma from Juventus as a swapped deal with Luca Pellegrini, who joined Juve. A €23.50 million fee was paid for the Spanish goalkeeper Paul Lopez. The Roma fans also saw the arrivals of the Italian midfielder Bryan Cristante and Amadou Diawara both for a fee of around £19mil.
Lazio have brought in a promising youngster from SC Braga for €8.50 million, Pedro Neto. SC Braga have made a condition for Lazio, a €7.50 million paid loan with an obligation at €4.50 million. As soon as Neto reaches three appearences in official competitions with the first team, a €2.5 million clause was activated. Denis Vavro, a centre back from Slovakia was purchased for a sum of €10.50million. Lazio have spent around €11.00 million for the Italian midfielder Manuel Lazzari.
The current Serie B champions are looking forward for their new experience in Italy`s top tier. They managed to seal the deal with FC Copenhagen for Jesse Jeronen for a sum of €5.00 million. The French forward Florian Aye was also added to the squad for €2.00 million.
Genoa will be looking to improve their position from last season as they were nearly relegated from the Serie A. They managed to get two Juve`s players including Stefano Sturaro who has experience in the Uefa Champions League was bought for €16.50 million. Another player that Genoa managed to purchase is the former Bianconeri youngster Andrea Favilli for a reported sum of €7.00 million. Sturaro and Favilli were both on loan last season with Genoa but both clubs came to an agreement for these two players to stay at Genoa. According to reports, the oldest club in Italy is for sale, “Genoa Football Club S.p.A. announces that a mandate has been given to Assietta S.p.A., a financial consultancy company, specializing in corporate finance, as an advisor for the sale of the club.”
Sampdoria have spent some money during the summer as a sum of €20.00 million was paid for the goalkeeper Emil Audero to Juventus. Audero was on loan this season at Sampdoria with an option to buy after the end of his loan. Jakub Jankto was also on loan with an option to buy last year and Sampdoria have spent around €14.50 million for the midfielder. Sampdoria is also said to be for sale, the club`s representative have already meet with American investors.
Simone Zaza came back to Italy after spells in England and Spain. Zaza signed a contract of 4 years with ‘I granati’ and came at a price of €12.00 million. They also got a promising youngster from Nigeria, Ola Aina from Chelsea at a reported sum of €10.00 million.
Spal reached an agreement with Atalanta for Andrea Petagna. The loan deal is worth €3 million, with an obligation to buy worth €12.00 million should SPAL avoid relegation. Petagna will sign a 5-year contract worth €1.3 million a year, plus bonus. This is an important investment for SPAL, as it’s the most expensive in the biancazzurra club history.
Bologna have been very busy so far with purchasing new players. Juventus sold Riccardo Orsolini to Bologna for a reported sum of €15.00 million on a permanent deal. Nicola Sansone and Roberto Soriano both arrived from Villareal at a sum of €7.50 million. A Japanese defender was also brought in the squad from Sint-Truiden.
The Serie A transfer window is still active and ends on the 18th of August. There are still several rumours that most people want to see them happen for real. Lazio`s star Milinkovic-Savic have surely hit the bulls-eye as he has been expected to join either Juventus or Manchester United. Juventus Paolo Dybala has also been linked to a move to the English Premier League for a reported sum of around €80.00 million with Tottenham Hotspurs. One rumour that will surely be crucial in the nearby future of the Italian champions is surely that of Moise Kean. A promising youngster who has had a positive season last year although he did not have enough minutes on the pitch, the Juve supporters have seen what Kean can do. He has been linked with Everton on a permanent transfer but Juve want to make a buy-back clause of €36.00 million to give the youngster experience and buy him back.
