Ta Grabiel Restaurant was a restaurant that people looked up to until a few years back . It was known for its good and genuine food and also for the unique way the hosts dealt with guests. Many will recall Karmenu and later his brother Mario.
It seems however, that both are no longer in charge of the restaurant and that a younger smart fellow took over the management of it. Indeed, one must say that this young man is very polite and extremely well mannered. He is certainly doing his best to give the restaurant a touch of elegance in hosting.
This effort however, seems not to be backed by the kitchen department as there seems to be no difference in the quality of food served in the Terrazza (owned by the same people) and the Restaurant itself. Apart from the fact that you are paying a higher price for the same food its quality leaves much to be desired. Gone are the days of good food at Grabiel. Indeed, the restaurant is nowadays relatively empty. They also changed name to try a new brand image albeit it still states by Grabiel. The new name is L-iskaliz.
In our humble opinion the restaurant is now very well rated in service and manners (to the contrary of the past) but much to be desired in terms of food. To the young man in charge: Well done, keep working on it.
