The rate of Covid-19 vaccination in nursing homes will increase fourfold

Posted by Vento on 16th January 2021 in Local News

During a virtual meeting with the National Association of Pensioners, the Minister for the Elderly and Active Aging Michael Farrugia discussed various topics that affect active aging and pensioners in our country.

“I started this morning by giving you the positive news that from Monday, the vaccination rate against Covid 19 will increase fourfold in nursing homes. This will accelerate vaccination in all nursing homes with a schedule between homes run by different sectors. This will also lead to speeding up the whole process in our country and we will return to normalcy as soon as possible,” said Minister Michael Farrugia.

He added that with the arrival of more vaccines in our country, the process of vaccinating the elderly living in their homes will be accelerated. Apart from the current situation of the pandemic among us, Minister Michael Farrugia gave an account of the various changes, new initiatives and more effective operations of the services being provided to the elderly, whether they are residents of San Vincenz de Paul, housing of the elderly, as well as those in the community.

While the association submitted several proposals to be evaluated by the government, Minister Michael Farrugia explained the various holistic measures that are benefiting the elderly in our country.
