Minister for Gozo, Clint Camilleri addressed a press conference earlier today where he announced that once again activities will resume around Gozo. Clint Camilleri said that, “the Minister for Gozo has prepared a full program of activities for the summer season commencing from 1 July to September for all those who visit the island of Gozo.” He also reminded that in the next few days the fourth ship of the Gozo Channel, the MV Nikolaos, will start operating again.

Minister Camilleri spoke about how important these activities are to attract more Maltese and tourists to Gozo and reminded that the economy of the island of Gozo depends very much on tourism. He said that in addition to the public being able to enjoy Gozitan cuisine, beautiful beaches and the authentic environment of the island of Gozo, now shows will also be held where local talent can stand out, through a variety of visual art , catering for everyone’s tastes.

These activities will take place around the island of Gozo and will include concerts by bands near the beaches including Mġarr, Marsalforn and Xlendi, as well as in the squares of Xaghra, Xewkija and Qala, as well as in the city. There will also be festivals with different themes in the villages where the public can enjoy music and entertainment in another relaxed environment. These include the Annual Exhibition of Agriculture and Crafts which attracts people of all ages.

The Minister for Gozo ended his speech by urging the general public to choose Gozo for their holiday this summer.

More details on these activities can be obtained on the Facebook pages of the Directorate of Cultural Heritage and on the website visitgozo.com.
