Prime Minister hints that restaurants and other establishments will reopen this week

Posted by Vento on 17th May 2020 in Local News

In an interview earlier today, the Prime Minister said that despite the coronavirus pandemic, we cannot remain frightened forever and our country needs to move forward. He explained that although many are saying that the cases have increased, these have resulted from tests which have actually tripled in number.

Abela went on to say that the next step is to lift more restrictions and ignore any scaremongering. He continued that the three most important factors in controlling this pandemic are to maintain social distance, to protect the vulnerable and to protect our elderly.

The Prime Minister went on to explain that after the way our country has recovered from the pandemic, at the end of this week it will be perhaps possible to reopen restaurants, hairdressers, and nail technicians among other businesses.

He said that if these establishments are opened, and people abide by safety and social distancing rules people should not be afraid to visit these places.
