Second COVID-19 death confirmed

Posted by Vento on 9th April 2020 in Local News

In a statement issued by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health a few minutes ago, it was stated that the Ministry has just been informed that a 79-year-old has become the second victim of Covid-19 in our country.

The elderly man, who was being treated at Karen Grech Hospital, had several health complications. He was tested for Covid-19 on April 6 after developing a fever and was found positive for the virus. The man died overnight at Karen Grech Hospital.

The Ministry of Health, while sending condolences to the relatives of the victim, again calls for the nation to follow the Department of Health’s appeals and instructions, so that the most vulnerable in our society can be protected.
