The Association of Catering Establishments (ACE) is pleased to note that the Government has taken on board various of its suggestions, which cater for ensuring business continuity of Catering establishments amongst which, bars and restaurants.
The measures announced yesterday (24 March 2020) will ensure that jobs are safeguarded, fostering the necessary peace of mind for both employers and employees. The ACE has been working intensely and diligently over the last weeks in order to safeguard jobs. It has managed this thanks to the collaboration of its members from the catering sector who have constantly responded to the various calls of ACE.
ACE strongly reiterates that the evolving circumstances need to be monitored. This may be a long journey which we need to go through all together. ACE will be monitoring the situation and will unequivocally remain in constant dialogue with the Government.
In the meantime, ACE is working hand in hand with its members in order to find alternative sources of revenue. It is also working with members to plan together a steady recovery when the spread of the virus is controlled.
ACE would like to thank the Prime Minister Dr Robert Abela, Hon Ms Farrugia Portelli, Minister for Tourism and also Mr. Kurt Farrugia, CEO of Malta Enterprise for the constant support they are giving to the Association and the Sector.
