As the second decade of the second millennium is born…

Posted by Vento on 31st December 2019 in Opinion

It’s been, what can only be described, as a seismic year on this blessed rock… There are lessons to be learnt, plenty of them, but what is sure, is that the people need their trust restored in the powers that be, in those who guide them, those who supposedly lead by example. These, on their part, need to remember that with great power comes great responsibility and the country and the people they have sworn to serve should be their top priority, always and at whatever personal cost.

But such is the resilience of our nation and our people, which history has unfailingly shown that in the face of sheer adversity, still dared to hope. HOPE for a brighter tomorrow, HOPE for making up for our mistakes, HOPE for being the best we can be as a nation, as neighbours, friends and relatives… With a little goodwill, faith and tolerance, together we can make all of the above a reality.

Therefore, with an overwhelming anticipation on the dawn of a brand new 2020, we can choose to reflect on the past year and grow from the experience. May 2020 bring health, happiness and prosperity to all, but may it also keep the light of hope for a better future shining brightly throughout the year…

While we thank you for your continued support, we take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and joyous New Year 2020!
