Speed and security are the new buzzwords
“We know that thousands of patrons come to SiGMA to view our new innovative products exhibited at our stand. And we will not let them down this time round at what has become the most important iGaming show all over Europe”.
These were the words of Germano Arnò, ceo of Em@ney, an electronic money institution which is amongst the 12,000 attendees and over 400 exhibitors at SiGMA, coming from 80 different countries. Em@ney is perhaps the only Maltese company which offers a host of cutting-edge services although competition in Malta is not lacking either.
“Those who offer payment services have to reconcile technological innovation with even more stringent compliance rules. It does not only serve transferring money at a fast rate, but security is also an issue both for the receiver and the issuer. Anti-money laundering and top-notch financial security are also crucial and this is even more true in the world of gaming where these matters are unimpeachable. With this high-risk sector, the bar has been raised ever so higher and if we manage to continue tapping into this important sector, then we are good to go”, Arnò adds.
Em@ney started operations in Malta in 2011. At that time, the technology level was already high with traditional banking systems challenged. And with changing times Em@ney is now practically the only option available for people who live in Malta to open an account. Em@ney was the first institution in Europe to come up with the electronic cheque in 2016. The Maltese regulatory authorities had praise for the project and it is now being used all over the European Union.
So Malta has been selected as Em@ney’s base over the rest of Europe?
“We are a Maltese institution which considers Europe as its primary market. When you look at European companies who have a base here, you will realize that their dna is practically the same. Many of our customers operate in Malta and with the ever increasing difficulty to open a bank account, Em@ney is now at the forefront of things”, Em@ney’s ceo said.
Em@ney’s new products will be unveiled after SiGMA opens.
