In my view he never brought real changes to Malta Football or at least not those required. Mind you neither did his predecessors!
I have been following football for 40years or at least that is how far back my memory goes. I must say that in spite of hoping for forty years I have not seen a significant change in the local game in the international sphere. Actually one can say that relatively Malta has not moved in line with international improvements.
The Romania game was really the peak of Norman Darmanin Demajo or at least it should have been. Yet Malta was non existent. Certain players could not even run. One of them reminded me of when we were teenagers and one of us could not run because just before he had a few beers! To add insult to injury certain commentators were happy with Malta‘s performance. Oh yes we could have lost 8 – 0 but we lost 4 – 0 and created some opportunities! Seriously? Seems this reasoning is coming popular in our country!
It is now time for change again. Will we see a difference in approach? Will the contestants present some real propositions for the benefit of maltese football and will the clubs support such propositions or will it once again become only a political election?
