For the 11th consecutive year the St Paul’s churchyard in Rabat Malta, witnessed an energetic water gaming sports activity which carries the name “Games for Everyone/Logħob għal Kulħadd.” An activity which is divided over a week that sees the participation of children and young adults enjoying a competitive atmosphere. All this is organised by the strong youth committee, Żgħażagħ Rabtin Pawlini, with the participation of the Responsible Gaming Foundation and the Parliamentary Secretary for Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation at the Office of the Prime Minister.
Parliamentary Secretary Silvio Schembri attended for this activity and stated clearly that he was very impressed with the strong enthusiasm and organization shown for such an event dedicated to children and young adults. Schembri said that such activities challenge our children and youth physically and helps them stay away from addictions such as gambling. As he thanked the young group committee Żgħażagħ Rabtin Pawlini and the Responsible Gaming Foundation, the Parliamentary Secretary ended his speech by saying that, “everyone should be at the forefront to encourage activism and invaluable volunteering in localities.”
General Manager of the Responsible Gaming Foundation, Priscilla Muscat, talked about the importance of awareness about responsible gaming and referred to the education campaign among fourth year primary students, where people from the Foundation give out talks to create awareness about the problem of compulsive gambling from an early age. “Gambling is an addiction which carries with it negative consequences,” she added. Ms Muscat also referred to the Foundation freephone service 1777, where people suffering from addiction or relatives of such persons can call anonymously and find all the appropriate assistance from the trained staff of the foundation.
Chairman of the Youth Committee Żgħażagħ Rabtin Pawlini Henry Debattista, Vice Chairman Adriano Farrugia and Secretary Norbert Inguanez thanked all those who participated for these events. They gave their respective thanks to the participant teams and the audience who always came in numbers and gave a healthy cheering applause to all those involved in these sports games.
