H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri , Minister of Economy in the UAE, said that in light of the political, economic and social challenges and crises facing the Arab region, which have serious implications for the economic and social growth of the same region, the need for solidarity is more important than ever before. Efforts to achieve economic political integration to overcome the various current challenges in the interests of the countries and development goals involved, should be increased.
He added that there is no doubt that there are achievements on the march of joint Arab action, especially with regard to steps and procedures on facilitating and liberalising the trade movement between Arab countries, which in turn have wide implications for the development of intra-regional trade movement. The implementation of the desired Arab economic integration, still faces a number of outstanding issues.
Al-Mansouri said that the ministerial meetings and preparatory meetings of the Arab summit discussed a number of key issues to push forward Arab cooperation and integration efforts. He expressed his hope for the summit to come out with resolutions, that contribute to enhancing the gains of joint Arab action and achieving consensus and solidarity among the Arab countries, pointing to the importance of the sincere efforts made by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, during the presidency of the previous session.
