According to latest data published by the National Statistics Office (NSO), in April 2017, seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 2.8 per cent over the previous month. When compared to April 2016, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went up by 3.6 per cent.

Monthly comparison

In April 2017, the seasonally adjusted index of industrial production increased by 2.8 per cent. Increases were registered in the production of consumer goods (6.3 per cent) and energy (4.3 per cent). On the other hand, the production of intermediate goods and capital goods went down by 1.4 and 1.0 per cent respectively.

Annual comparison

When compared to April 2016, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went up by 3.6 per cent. Increases were registered in the production of intermediate goods (13.8 per cent), energy (8.8 per cent) and capital goods (0.3 per cent). On the other hand, the production of consumer goods went down by 5.5 per cent.
